Café Canelo was born in the municipality of Cañasgordas in a village called El canelo, located in the department of Antioquia. This is a community that has around 54 coffee-producing families whose average age of coffee growers is 60 years.
In 2013, Gabriel Mazo and Julián Cardona began as producers of their brand looking to sell it in western Antioquia. They started out as door-to-door vendors, roasting the coffee in a pan, grinding it using the same tool they use to grind arepas, and then leaving with the product in a bag to sell it in stores. They began to sell it first in cafeterias and restaurants, then they looked for their own clients and later, through coffee stations in towns and parks, they transmitted the culture of coffee consumption.
"The Authentic Flavor of Regional Coffee" is the pillar of its brand, built from love and passion with the unique and incomparable Colombian Coffee seal.
The special edition of the "Abrazando Montañas" coffee, collects the most select lots of high-altitude coffee grown in the mountains where the spectacled bear travels. So we add our grain of coffee so that he can continue living in the mountains of Antioquia.
